Historic Projects - Bona Fide

Bona Fide is a New Zealand book dedicated to sharing teens’ true stories and secrets. Teenage years can be full of excitement, fun and experimentation - change is abundant and some say this is the best time of their lives. Unfortunately many teens also feel isolated, pressured and misunderstood. Most have secrets and would die if someone else knew about them! In Bona Fide teens share these secrets. You get a rare look inside their heads. Chances are, you’ll read stories that you can really relate to – and feel better as a result.

This is why Bona Fide was created. To inspire and educate teens. So that teens can see that others feel the same as they do – that they are not so weird after all. The stories are real, written by New Zealand volunteers about significant events in their lives. They cover a multitude of situations from pregnancy to rebellion, many extremely honest and graphic.

In association with Project K, the grant from the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation provided access to this book for hundreds of teens participating in Project K’s youth development programme. It also gifted copies of the book to the teenage kids of Vodafone NZ employees. Some of whom might otherwise have had no access to this unique resource.

Project K is a charitable organisation that supports teens to maximise their potential. The NZ Foundationis proud to have supported Bona Fide in association with Project K - a valuable, inspirational and motivational resource for future generations of Kiwi teens.
