Our Projects

Making a Difference for Kiwi youth

Since its inception in 2002, the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation has donated over $6.5 million dollars towards its various programs.

The Vodafone New Zealand Foundation manages three core programmes on an annual basis: World of Difference (our flagship), the Grant Making Programme and Employee Programmes.

The Grant Making Programme - Recent Projects:

SAFESAFE Network
SAFE are a long standing, reputable organisation successfully operating the largest community-based professional treatment programme in New Zealand for both adult and adolescent sex offenders.

Vodafone Foundation funding of $280,000 over two years, will go towards launching a Young Adult Programme which will be tailored to youth 17-24 yrs who have exhibited inappropriate behaviours - but not yet offended. The new programme addresses will offer a separate programme, including intensive community support, individual work and use of innovative technologies to support treatments www.safenz.org

Ka Mau Te Wero - Digivoice Project

This project represents a collaborative effort between the Eastside Youth Network (more than 30 youth groups and stakeholders) and Ka Mau Te Wero (KMTW). Both KMTW and the Eastside Youth Network are committed to the well-being and positive development of young people in Glen Innes (GI). The ‘DigiVoice' Project is providing GI's young people with an opportunity to develop and express their voices using innovative technologies. Histories and experiences will be recorded and archived in the local library. Digivoice aims to help the youth of GI develop a stronger sense of pride, belonging in the community and leadership skills.

BiABrothers in Arms

Brothers in Arms provides friendship-based mentoring support for at-risk Auckland youth facing extraordinary and multiple issues such as learning and social problems and not attending (or struggling in) schools. Many have been referred by Police, Health and Educational staff and the mentoring relationship lasts for at least one year, often longer.

The grant will go towards recruiting, training, matching and supporting 70 young men and women of goodwill who will each mentor one young person to make a difference in their lives www.brothersinarms.co.nz
