Before completing the 'expression of interest' form, please make sure your project and the outcomes of that project align with 'What the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation invests in'. If your project fits and you meet the 'Do I qualify' criteria we'd love to hear from you.
What the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation invests in
The Grant Making Programme seeks initiatives that encourage positive and healthy outcomes for young New Zealanders aged 12 to 24, who have high needs and are facing significant obstacles.
- The initiative should deal holistically with young New Zealanders who face extraordinary difficulties in multiples areas of their lives. Your organisation/programme should embrace the whole person, not just one problem. For example programmes that address a combination of the following key youth issues;
- Youth offending
- Drug and alcohol abuse
- Unemployment
- Suicide prevention
- Anti-social behaviour
- Academic underachievement
- Emotional and mental health
- The programme must enable youth to make positive connections with their community, family, school, peers and networks and the programme must be committed to helping young people reconnect with the people that matter in their lives.
- Youth must be involved in decision making around how the programme is run and should include youth in the development and implementation.
- The majority of the work should be Auckland based, as we want to make a real social impact to one particular geographic area. The majority of Vodafone staff reside in Auckland and, although not mandatory, there may be opportunities to engage Vodafone volunteers in the work that you do.

How to apply for funding
- The first step is to complete the 'expression of interest' form. This will supply us with the key details needed to confirm if your application fits our funding criteria. Expression of interest forms are reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year, so you are welcome to submit them at any time by emailing to vodafonenzfoundation@vodafone.com
- We will acknowledge receipt of your 'expression of interest' form either by telephone, e-mail or letter within 14 days of the form arriving at our office. If the proposal does not fall within our guidelines and is one which we are unable to support, then we will advise you of this decision within this time frame.
- If the proposal is eligible, we will ask you to fill out a more detailed grant application form which will be reviewed by a Foundation employee who will contact you within 4 weeks of receipt of the application form. You will then be informed as to whether or not you have met our requirements to go through to the next stage or if you are not eligible for funding.
- A face to face meeting may be set up to discuss your project either with the Foundation Manager and/ or with the Board. The Board reviews applications for funding at quarterly board meetings.
Please note: As well as accepting unsolicited expressions of interest through our website, it is the intention of the Vodafone New Zealand Foundation to proactively seek-out community organisations whom we want to support.
