Stephen Denekamp & Rainbow Youth Trust

At aged 20 Stephen is our youngest winner. Rainbow Youth works with gay, lesbian, bisexual, fa’afafine, takataapui young people and their families, helping to break social taboos around talking about sexual orientation and gender identity in schools.

He’ll work as an education officer holding workshops in schools, providing support, advocacy and education for queer youth.

He’s been working at Rainbow Youth part-time but being part of the World of Difference programme will mean that he’s able to visit more schools in the Auckland region.
