Diana Hickey & The Child Cancer Foundation

Diana is passionate about art, but she is also passionate about helping those around her.

Diana Hickey plans to work as an Art Therapist for the Child Cancer Foundation through The Children’s Haematology and Oncology Centre at Christchurch hospital. She will work hands-on with children with cancer, helping them to understand their recovery and illness and to communicate through art.

Art Therapy is used extensively in the United Kingdom and America and also increasingly in Australia to help people who find it difficult to communicate verbally.

With the Vodafone NZ Foundation resources behind her Diana will be able to concentrate on expanding and developing young people’s abilities to express and deal with their concerns about their illness.
