Jane Denton and The Back-up TrustIn 1985 Mike Nemesvary was at the peak of his athletic career: World Cup champion freestyle skier, James Bond stunt double. Then one day a routine work-out on his trampoline went horribly wrong and the then-24-year-old was left a quadriplegic. Since then, through his charity The Back-Up Trust, Mike Nemesvary has become a global campaigner for spinal cord injury research and the provision of the spinally-injured with outdoor experiences.
Occupational therapist Jane Denton was determined to carry on the work of Mike Nemesvary and The Back-Up Trust by offering skill transference courses to New Zealand's spinally-injured. And with the World Of Difference resources behind her, that's exactly what Jane’s achieved. « Back to 2002 recipient list | all recipients Jane Denton's monthly diaries |
